New kitchen cabinets or new floors first

We are going to be renovating soon and this will include a new kitchen.
Should we get the new floor fitted before the cabinets or should the flooring be fitted after.

    Thanks

We had this discussion with our builder who wanted to put the floor down first. However I figured that no matter how careful the kitchen fitters would be with the cabinets, they would not be so fussy about the floor, so the cabinets were put in first, then the floor, then the kickboards. Assuming you are talking about vinyl, tiles would be a different situation altogether.
