Lift pump leak - MF 4355

    Hi,

I have a leak at the lift pump on a MF 4355. It is leaking at the point where the engine pump meets the engine block. I replaced the gasket, the old one had become very thin. The new one was pretty thin also. It's still leaking unfortunately.. the gasket I bought was from a local farm supply, I don't know if the original part is any different.

(By the way, the lift pump was probably the most contrary part I have ever put on a tractor. If you disconnect the hoses going to it, it's easy to screw the bolts into the engine block, but then the hoses won't reconnect with the pump, unless you remove the bolts from the engine block. If you connect the hoses first, then the bolts into the block won't thread. There is some sort of odd tension on the part which makes it very difficult to seat properly.)
