1. What is your budget? [€700]

2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? [College/Work (multitasking). The only game I play is Football Manager so the more cores and hyperthreading in the processor, the better.]

3. Do you need a copy of Windows? [Yes]

4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? [No]

5. Do you need a monitor? [Yes]

6. Do you need any peripherals? [Keyboard]

7. Are you willing to try overclocking? [No]

8. How can you pay? [Visa]

9. When are you purchasing? [As soon as possible.]

10. If you need help building it, where are you based? [No help needed.]

If there's anything else you'd recommend, feel free to mention it. I've an ok knowledge of computer hardware and their jobs.

Don't recall FM being intensive at all, you can probably just get by on Inte 4000HD

No it's not intensive at all, I've been playing it with little issues (all be it with small player databases) on a laptop with a Intel P6200 for almost 4 years. I'd just like to have a little more "umph" for a change really.

1. What size case would you recommend? I'm a bit overwhelmed by the choices.

2. Again, when looking for parts I'm overwhelmed by choice, mainly I'm paranoid of compatibility issues. For example, can I pick a certain brand of motherboard with a certain brand of processor? It confuses me.

Stuck in some brands there. The i7 is likely complete overkill, you could drop to an i5 or an i3 to shave loads of money off and still have a huge upgrade

Yes, certain components are only compatible with other parts. I.e intel processors will only work on intel chipset motherboards with the matching socket type.

What programs will you be needing for college? Will it be just the usual microsoft office programs or do you use specialized software such as cad?

The parts mentioned above won't fit your budget since you need a keyboard, monitor and windows. However if you are in an IT course then it is possible your college is part of the dreamspark program where you can get windows for free. Talk to your course supervisor about that if you are in IT.

Sorry only half read your OP

Drop i7 for i3 4160, free up €200, drop cooler master hyper Evo altogether

Put €150 towards a monitor like BenQ 2450 and then €80 for a nice keyboard and mouse, €30 for a Windows 10 licence on Reddit if you need it

I use the likes of Adobe, Compilers, Citrix etc.

I have free office with college and I completely forgot about Dreamspark until you mentioned it. Thank you, I don't require windows after all.

Thanks. I'll look them up right away! Although I don't require windows anymore and I'm not too fussy about the keyboard.
