Malta or Salou for weeks holiday last week of October

Got no summer holiday this year so my Wife and I looking at booking a week away for the last week in October.

Would like a week of relaxation and sunshine and would love an oul swim in the sea or even the hotel pool as a bonus if weather permitted.
Budget is not great however. Roughly €300 per person and we could book a couple of flights to Salou with a nice hotel for that where Malta would be about an extra €75 each.
We have been to Salou on family holiday during Summer last year but never Malta so just wondering if anyone has been to either at that time of year and which would they recommend.
    Thanks in advance

Hi, I've been to 25 country's, and i don't normally like to go back to the same one, but I would go back to Malta many times and i have been there many times and i would love to live there, its one of the most safest country's in the world, the people are the friendliest people I've came across on holiday, its not hard to get lost or anything as the island is so small, but once i asked an ald lady where a certain tourist attraction was and she said hop in the car and I'll bring you there, that's an example of how decent they are, they all have perfect English as Maltese is no use off the island, Malta has the best weather in the world, your guaranteed around 25 degrees in late October, as i was there that time of year 2 years ago, I've never been to Salou, so i can't comment on that, but Malta is defiantly the best country I've been to.

Do go to Malta, so different to the typical holiday

Would you recommend any particular locations/resorts. Would like somewhere close to a beach and some places to go for a short walk in the evenings. Not pushed about mad night life, just somewhere for a nice pint and a meal and maybe a few shops for my wife

    Hi there.

You are so correct. I too have been to many many countries and Malta tops the list.
The country is beautiful and the people even nicer. I love it!!

Depends what kind of price you can get/happy to pay.

I'd recommend Valletta (the capital) or Sliema. Sliema has sandstone beaches.

Chances are you'll find lots of places to stay in Bugibba but it's no different to any holiday resort anywhere.

Be prepared for unpredictable weather as the last time I was there in mid-October there was a lot of wind/ rain/ thunder as well as spells of sunshine. I recommend a trip to Gozo.

Thanks for all the advice folks. Ended up booking 2 flights for Salou. Budget just would not go as far for Malta this time.
But after doing a lot of browsing the last few days on Malta, I would say it is somewhere we will try in the future.
