Hi, have been looking at getting a CX for some off road and winter riding. I ride a lot, abt 7k a year. I really like the boardmans and there is an extra 15% off till tomorrow nite. looking at the cx team however, i did also look at the elite series (non halfords) 9.2 CXR but is a lot dearer (@1k) for a carbon frame, better wheels, 2kg lighter, and 11 speed over 10 from what i can see. Is it worth going up to elite? Anyone any experience of either cx rd and cxr elite? The value with the cx team seems great but have to decide b4 tomorrow nite or loose 15%! Killer!

Yeah the avid BB5 breaks aren't supposed to be great and normally if buying something I'd pay the bit extra for the quality esp as I am gonna be using it but there's such a massive difference in price here! Prob talking over 1500 yoyo difference! I think the cxr is internal cabling too not that that really makes a difference!

if you have an axa card you get an extra 10% off. I was told that if you reserve it for the online price, then present your card you will get the extra discount.

Worth buying for CX B racing, not likely to trouble the scorers, at that price Len? Yes or No?

for B racing and having a bit of craic, yeah its fine. I would also look at the rose bikes, but they are a bit more expensive. Personally I am not mad on discs, so I would look at something with rim brakes.

Some people have placed in A races with low end bikes. It's not about the bike ;)
