    Hi guys

    Need some advise

I'm trying to sell my car but so far no-one is showing any interest..

Car details: 2009 peugeot 308, 4 door, good condition, 150 km, NCT passed may 2015, taxed until the end of August

I currently have it listed for sale for €4.8k
Need to sell but want to make sure I'm getting a fair price for it

What are your thoughts? Am I being realistic with the price?

Also If I was to go to a garage would anyone have a ball pack figure as to how much they would offer (not part of a trade in)

    Thanks

    P

Have you made a balls of the ad with 2 pictures of the car at dodgy angles where it looks like it just came through the forrest stage of a rally?

Can you post the ad for opinions? Where do you have it posted for sale?

A garage will give you tiny money for it.

Your description is rubbish, and the photos are not great.

I'd want to see pictures of the interior seats, not the boot being down.

Also a good picture to include is having the ignition on and showing mileage etc.

Also a picture including the certs.

In the description include how long you've had the car, what you've done to it service wise, emphasise the NCT etc.

Your current ad reads like you just want rid

No idea tbh, it seems cheap to me as I recently bought a 2004 Honda accord 2L automatic petrol for 3.2 k. I specifically wanted a decent sized petrol engine that was automatic though, and there is a premium on automatics, and I bought from a dealer, a manual privately would have been 2.5k or less

Your best bet on price is to check other ads.

However petrol cars post 2008 are hard to come by so you might't find any.

Description as was said needs work, I would also get rid of the photo with the rear seats down makes it look like they are damaged.

    Here's how it's done...

Photos are ok on that ad but the ad itself is terrible. No clear bullet points or paragraphs just a poor copy and paste job with all words mashed together. Half of the stuff in that ad is needless and very difficult to read. A typical car dealer ad.

A new car scent air freshener is good too for when a buyer comes to view, helps seal the deal :D

Massive mileage for a petrol. You might get €2750 on a good day.

150k km or just over 93k miles is well above average for a 6 year old petrol car but massive is a bit overstated. Can you point us to a 2009 petrol 308 for €2750 as the cheapest one with 105k miles on donedeal is asking €4,500.

OP will have to look at reducing the asking price alright but not by half. Just for comparison here is one being sold by a dealer with a bit more mileage for similar money but will come with some sort of warranty:

It's only 93k miles. Fair enough it's above average for the year but it's not massive miles by any means.
