    Backup your stuff first

    Then

    1. Open Control Panel and click on Region icon

    2. Now go to "Administrative" tab and click on "Change system locale" button.

    3. Now select English (United States) option from the drop-down box and click on OK button.

    Then go here , https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Download media creation tool for the version of windows your running.

Once you've done that run it and select the upgrade option.

    That's it. Worked for me

Did you verify that this didn't work without changing your Locale first?

Yes, If I try to upgrade without changing the locale first I get the message "Something Happened"

Thanks Uncle Sam. I had been getting the dreaded "something happened" error as well. I had read elsewhere to change the language to English -US? But the error kept coming up. Changing the locale has done the trick - Cheers!
