Flying with camping gear

    Hi all

Next week I'm going to Sziget festival in Hungary which is a 7 day music festival where you camp.

I've never been camping before and have certainly never flown with camping gear so wondering if anyone has any tips or past experiences with checking in camping gear?

I'm flying with Aer Lingus and plan to bring (but have not yet purchased) a pop up tent, mattress and sleeping bag and maybe a fold out chair but that's not essential. I also am going to buy a 65l or 80l bag pack. I presume these things can be strapped to the bag pack?

Will airlines have any issues with things attached to the luggage?

Any comments or advice are greatly received.

Sziget offer pre-pitched tents. Takes the hassle out of it for you. I'd recommend this.

Great shout, the ore pitched ones are sold out but they are selling 2 man tents, mattress and blanket as a package so going to get that!

    Thanks
