    Hi,

    I downloaded the windows beta version(Windows10_TechnicalPreview_x64_EN-GB_9926)

    Does anyone know how long this well keep running on the laptop before it reaches its time limit?

    That's a really old version of windows 10, which has actually been released publicly a couple of days ago.

    If you've got a copy of Windows 7 or 8, then you get a free upgrade to it.

    There lies the problem.
    laptop's harddrive has crashed and there was no recovery disc created with it when it was bought.(win 7)
    Only windows disc I have is vista.

    Hence just installing the beta version of windows. Been testing it on a laptop in work and its stable.

    If the laptop came with Windows 7, it may have a built in license key, and they Windows 10 Installer might find it for you anyway.

    Might be in luck. Friend has a win 7 home PERM OA version laptop that he doesnt use anymore. If i use that key, will that work?
