My tiler has asked me to polybond the walls before he comes in to tile.

I have never heard of this being down so I am wondering if other people feel this is a good idea or not.

I am not a tiler but has he giving you a reason why he wants this done. Usually the reason to apply polybond is to give a good base (key) so as to bond better. Has the area been previously painted or has loose flakey or dust plaster ?

Again I am not a tiler
