A colleague of mine was turned away from the deed poll counter in recent weeks. His deed poll had been completed in block letters in biro. It was the form that appears on the courts.ie website. He was told that handwritten forms are not acceptable, and that typed (i.e. printed from Microsoft word) forms are now mandatory.…

Has there been a rule change? I emailed the deed poll address but I have received no reply.

There are no courts rules for change of name by deed poll as its not legislated for.

I simply dont know. I have never heard of that.

Theres nothing on the form that suggests this. I suspect the clerk was being a dick. I would submit it by post.
