Garmin 510 random issue

Had a race tonight, cycled out to it and stopped it, saved it, and turned it off.

Then the race started so I turned it on and hit start, upon finishing I stopped it and hit save, then turned it off.

Then did the same as cycling out for cycling home, turned it on, hit start, got home, hit stop, save, turned it off.

My issue lies with the actual race, the distance/speed etc was all recorded, but the route is non existent, just a straight line on Strava and Garmin Connect..

Any ideas what is causing this? Recently master reset it and Im stumped as to why cycling out and cycling home recorded perfectly, but the race route didn't :(

That straight line is a known issue, it happened to my one on the very first spin
Connect to your PC and upgrade to the latest firmware, since I upgraded its been fine.

The straight line usually happens when you have started recording before a gps signal was picked up.

What are you turning it off so much?
