Booking Flights for Honeymoon - Passport Question

    Hey folks

Myself and my fiancée are getting married in November and having the honeymoon in February (better time of year and savings the money etc). However wanted to ask if it should be ok if she uses her current password with her Maiden name when travelling? This is mainly due to booking flights.

Should it be ok for her to use her current passport with her Maiden name when we travel after we're married? Ideally this is because we don't want to wait until possibly December at the earliest before we book flights for waiting on a new passport when the prices are much higher and want to try book flights currently at the moment, which ask for her pre married surname.

    Cheers for the help.
    Mike

If we booked under her Maiden name and she changed passport afterwards to her married name it would still be ok to travel with?

    Hi,

Yeah its fine for your partner to travel on her maiden name and it'll save on getting a new passport. That's we did recently.

The Mrs won't be changing her passport until its out of date in about 5 years!

Why would you change a passport until it expires?

If the name on the document matches there is no issue.

There may be some issue if they were different and may require a marriage cert, but you would have to check that with the operator.

I can't see any good reason for changing a passport early though.

Use the name on your passport. Book flights under that name. They both match so all fine.

No matter what your namis now or will be in the future do not book under a different name from the one in the passport at the time travelling.

Your passport must machine flight booking name. Or if you prefer the flight booking ane must match your passport.
