I was bought €250 euro eircom shares at their launch. I've never cashed any divendeds cheques or anything related to change to Vodafone etc. I've basically ignored it since I got them. I now want to cash them in, anyone have any advice as to how I'd go about it or any glaring omissions (I think a 40 euro cheque was sent out at the switch to Vodafone which I ignored) I'd miss money wise with cashing them in.

I'd be fairly sure that €40 cheque was you being paid off for your shares.

Which launch? The 1999 one or the 2004 one ( Eircom Group plc)? Because the 1999 shares went private with a payout of 1.335 EUR per share (i.e. you could try to recoup the 333.75 EUR from Eircom). The 2004 stocks were delisted in May 2006.

Either way your best bet will be to reach to Eircom (investor.relations@eircom.ie) but the fact you ignored cheques etc. sent out is your problem and not theirs honestly. I'd also check with the bank that hold the shares as they may have hold the payment in waiting for you (assuming you did not go with physical shares only).

If they were switched to Vodafone (even though you haven't cashed in anything did you still get dividend cheques are AGM notices in the post?) it is Computershare that you deal with. You can contact Vodafone Investor relations through them.

It's worth ringing them up. If you have your original share certs from Eircom you can find your new Vodafone investor number by calling.
