Buying a new car - €20k budget

    Hi,

    The time has come for me to change my car. I don't do a huge amount of driving - mainly evenings and weekends but I will occasionally drive
    to work.

    As such I was thinking that a petrol model might be more suitable for me. I was half thinking maybe an Audi A4/ BMW 3 series but there seems to be very few petrol models available? So perhaps I need to widen my horizons a bit or maybe consider a diesel car?

    I wouldn't be an expert in cars but I still want to get something nice/ a bit of fun. I'd be prepared to spend up to €20k for something I would
    be happy with.

    Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    €20k will buy you alot of cars out there. Can you narrow down the details a bit further such as which type of cars you don't like, for example. Also what would suit your needs, saloon, coupe or estate/suv? It will help people offer more relevant suggestions.

    Well not an estate/SUV. I do like coupes but would be happy with a saloon/hatch as well.

    As regards types of car, I think I'd prefer to avoid a Ford/Toyota/VW - not that there is anything wrong with these but just a personal thing.

    Initially in my own mind I would of been thinking BMW/Audi but I would be prepared to widen my outlook and consider other options e.g. Honda/Mazda/Opel etc

    I know €20k can buy quite alot so I guess it is just a little overwhelming with so much choice....
