Looks like he was hit in the arse and then drove into the lamppost, which did the major damage. And it's a fair amount of damage as you'd imagine the speeds weren't that high? Still as Colm M says it'll be rebuilt, though the insurance company will be crying at the thought. Some may recall when a certain Mr Rowan Atkinson went a bit sideways in his McLaren F1 and totalled it. The insurance company paid out nearly a million quid and it's back on the road again after a year long complete rebuild at McLaren.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

wonder how much his insurance quote is. probably cheaper than me trying to get a quote on a 1.8 over 15 years old car here

Atkinson sold it for 8 million a few weeks ago.
Something tells me the classic car bubble will burst soon

Oh really. Thought he'd keep that for life. Then again the running costs are beyond the level of daft. Petrol tank only lasts a couple of years and the propshafts need replacing every 5000 miles or something crazy like that.

I think it still has some legs in it, but bubble it is alright. The second investors get involved in any collectable and do so usually with a large chunk of borrowed money then that's a cast iron guaranteed bubble. It'll likely die off as it did before when the general economy climbs again and investors see more trad areas to invest in. The Ferrari GTO's of the world will keep their value mind you. It'll be the ETypes and mid range stuff that will likely bear the brunt of any downturn.

Would have been some impact inside the cabin, there's no airbags or head restraints, proper old time manly crash damage.

It's been a really bad week for James Bond gizmos.
The jet plane from Octopussy crash in Waterford, poor pilot was killed, and now the Aston from Goldfinger.
I'm not taking my lotus to a pier anytime soon.:)

probably be slated here again but vauxhall drivers are the worst I have ever come across, absolutely atrocious. Parking far away from one is crucial in a car park.

    Are opel drivers ok?

What amazes me about the Aston is that only 1 piece of glass seems to have got broken: the outer glass over the LH headlamp, the headlamp itself seems intact.

Any background on the owner? Seems like a rare enough piece to be wandering around in. Collector?
