I am looking at purchasing a 07 C70 and would appreciate it if someone could help me out with a diagnostic/obd check. Am located in the Lucan area.
Willing to pay for time and effort .

    Thanks.

There's is really no point running a diagnostics check unless the check engine light on.

This obviously isn't true if the check engine light has been tampered with but you can check this easily. When you turn on the ignition the check engine light should go on and then go off when the car is started. If it doesn't light up then you know the light itself is either broken or tampered with.

That model of Volvo probably also has an LCD display on the dash which should show up any errors if there are any.

    It depends.
I purchased a 3-series previously from a dealer only to find shortly afterwards that two glow plugs were dead.

No error messages on display but showed up on diag reader. On that car, changing glow plugs is not a minor job - intake manifold has to come off.

And a friends car had a problem with fuel supply pressure. Again, no error messages on screen.

Also, there's a small chance that historical codes could be saved as well.

After the previous experience i would prefer not to leave things to the say so of a used car dealer.

You can pick up the cheap Obd Bluetooth readers for under 10 euro and run Torque on a smartphone.

I've a basic OBD2 scanner. I'm in Lucan too. PM me and we'll hook your car up. No charge! :)
