Insure for one trip

    Hi there,

    When buying a car I just need to transfer the car to another place, one trip really. [Until another party collects car] I am a named driver on somebody elses policy... do any companies do quick insurance like that ?

    The easiest solution might be to get a friend that has their own insurance with a driving other cars extension to drive it for you. I don't think very short term motor insurance is available in Ireland.

    Correct. And there is a crying market for 1 day, 7 day or monthly insurance. I often have the need for it.

    Thanks a lot people, one of them could start making money for charging 50euro for single day insurance ! Would have been much more convenient than asking friends etc to take off work!

    Boards.ie is great, anytime I have an issue people are there to help.
