    Hi.

I am an ultra running newbie not from Ireland. Origin is Newfoundland but living here now. I have seen some of the Ultra records here and believe them to be a bit soft so I am going to embark on an odessey to break them.

    Running history: Marathon PB 2:34
    5k PB 15:29
    Never run a HM

Have been doing 50-60k runs at 7:10 pace.

Any suggestions on the softest records to take out first?

Will log training here - oh also what do I need to qualify for the national Ultra Team. Thanks

What's your nutrition strategy? Do believe in regular refuelling mid-race, or do you favour some other approach?

Great. I qualify so maybe I'll start working on that- other than that seems pretty straightforward? Had a look at the recent 24hr race and it seemed like it would be a piece of cake to podium there so maybe that is one to go for? Top 3 go to the Worlds?

No real opinion on nutrition honestly. Just eat when hungry and imagine in something like a 24 hr race I'll either **** or puke out what doesn't agree with me? Open to suggestion here.

Some charm. I don't fancy your chances to be honest.

Sorry? charm? I'm just trying to state my intentions I also doubt there are many if any ultra guys here who would be of my standard at the shorter stuff. Hence I'd be fairly confident

12 hr would prob be the easiest to go for,ur marathon time suggests a whack at Irish 50k record, and u could prob win most of the 50k/63k/100km races that are knocking around aswell as there usually isn't much guys with ur Mara speed around
