HiI recently had a large filling Down to the nerve filled. In pain for a few weeks then it settled . Yesterday I was eating and a part of the tooth wall broke off. I feel somewhat slight pain around the gum where it fell off which can radiate up my cheek. Now I'm worried as to what to expect next.
Will it need to be extracted or can I save it? I will have to wait to see a dentist

Ask dentist for emergency appointment, get it look at right away, you dont want an abscess or any other nastiness and your dentist would be best to advise you what needs to be done.
