Bed dilemma

Ok, so I need a new bed frame and mattress and am having trouble picking one for the following reason.
I am reasonably tall (around the 6ft mark) and I can't fit length ways in a single or double bed. My feet either hang out the end or hit the end of the bed which admittedly is annoying.
I can only lie straight in a king size bed due to the extra length. However due to size constraints the bed would take up a large proportion of room..
Any advice? Should I just go for the double and lie at an angle?
How do other people deal with this?

Have you tried Ikea? Their mattresses are longer than a standard Irish one.

All their widths are available in 200cm long, which I think is the same as a king size.

They have started stocking Irish sizes too, so make sure it is the European one.

You could hire a carpenter to make a bed for you. You'll get a really beautiful bed that fits you. I got a craftsman to carve a copy of a 16th-century Finnish settle bed years ago…
