About 50 years ago my Dad went on a bit of a boys trip. When the returned he had photographs developed and also put into these slides. The photos are long since lost but the slides have survived!

Those of the boys who are still alive are recreating that trip next month.

I was wondering if anybody knew where i could go to get the slides reprinted as photograph for him.

I have attached a picture of the slides (ruler is just for size / perspective ....)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have an old scanner like this one, which scans these to your PC, you can then get them printed whatever way you like, even taking them to a photo shop and getting a poster, canvas done etc.

how many slides are there? may be worth getting them professionally scanned if there are not too many. would be cheaper than buying a scanner.

    About 20 slides total.
Do you have any suggestions / recommendations of where I could go to have them scanned?

Darkroom Service in Dublin are excellent, top quality. I've had scanning done there before, great service. Based in Barrow Street.

I live in Louth also, also work in Dublin and have an Epson V750 scanner which will do this for you. If you want me to do them just say so, just need to know time scale etc.

Those lidl/aldi/special irish times offer scanners are, without exception, crap. They're typically some crummy digicam packed into a plastic case. They'd do badly for negatives, and even worse for slides. The absolute minimum if you're doing it yourself is one of the entry level Canon or Epson flatbeds that can scan film, and even they won't do a great job on slides or 35mm in general.

You're right Daire. It was really just a quick fix solution, I should have elaborated. I use an Epson v500 myself.
