Advice on buying from China

    Hi, this is my first post on boards.ie so I'm not sure if I'm doing it right.

    I'm looking at buying a new smartphone but I don't really like what's on offer from the mainstream companies such as Samsung, Sony etc... I'd love to try a smaller unknown company from elswhere. I discovered a few such as Oppo, Lenovo & UMI online and quite like the UMI Iron which is set for release soon. however I'm a little weary of buying from China.

    Does anyone have any experience with UMI or from any other Chinese smartphone manufacturers? Also, do they actually work in Ireland and what are some common issues when buying from China? Thanks.
