Mould in a home - How to test for it or hire a professional

Hi

There is a bathroom in my house that STINKS on and off. I thought it was the drains but a friend was here recently and said it smelled like mould. There is no visible sign of mould. There was a leak some time ago however from pipes in the space between the top and bottom floors.

Is there any way to test for mould? I really don't want to be breathing anything toxic.

I am willing to pay for a professional, although I live in a rented house.

Its an ensuite. Shower, sink, toilet

Have you cleaned out the shower trap ?
Rotten smell can come up through that on a windy day.
