Poland - cash

Going on my first trip to Poland (infact to Eastern Europe) shortly and was just wondering about the currency.

Can I just go to the local ATM in Warsaw and withdraw PLN's? I've done this in all sorts of other countries (UK, USA, Italy etc.) without any bother.

Everything is prebooked so I won't need cash until I'm in the city centre and checked into my hotel.

    Any other advice is welcome.

    Thanks.

    AIB suggest this is easy......

With the AIB Debit Card, you can travel even lighter, knowing that you can access your cash from ATM’s worldwide. For more information refer to: Schedule of International Transaction Charges

You can use your card for cash withdrawals from ATM’s worldwide (up to a daily limit of €600) where the Visa symbol is displayed.

Please note: Some ATMs abroad particularly in non-European locations, the daily cash withdrawal limit may be reduced to €250 or less. Local ATM limits may also apply.

Yes card will work but you could find yourself with a €150 daily limit, I would call your bank and see what their limit is for Poland.

    Thanks A.D.

Rang AIB - no problem using an ATM over there. Normal limits apply too. Exchange rates are decent.

    I'm all set.

The only ATM I ever had a problem with in Poland was a standalone one in a shop. Since then, I've stuck to ones connected to banks, without any problems.

Have been to Poland on a couple of occasions and never had a problem with withdrawing money (also AIB) so you should be good to go.
