Going to live in the north for anywhere up to a year and was wondering in regards to my irish licence, I want to buy an ni car and get insured with my irish licence is it ok to do this?
Is my licence classed as a European licence like can use it any where like that in Europe? That's what I'm finding anyway when I try to find answer on the net
I have the new plastic licence if that makes a difference

    Cheers

It's perfectly valid until it expires.

I thought it was only valid for 6 months, then you have to swap for a UK one? , or is it different because it's the north and they have different rules?

EU wide now. I've been using my NI licence in the south for ten years with no issues.
