Sheep are picky eaters like horses so it nice sweet smelling fine hay, basically same as horse hay.
Sheep turn their noses up at coarser stuff that cows would devour.

From what I've been told sheep hay comes from fresh enough cut grass and takes a few days longer to save than a field taken up for 3mts. Will always have a greenish finish ro it. A horse man told me that best hay for horses is the summer before hay as fresh hay can damage horses throats. Could be all bulls**t but wouldn't be the first time sure.
