    Hi Everyone,

Is there an Irish equivalent to CoPart? e.g. CATD, Damaged Repairable listings but for Ireland? I know they occasionally come up in the auction houses but on a regular basis is there listings anywhere?

    Thanks!

Not at the minute, all crashed stuff is bought from the storage yards directly or by so called salvage yards.

Copart however is in the process of setting up in south kildare in Castledermot

They bought premises and lodged planning which was appealed but now granted.

so work should start any time soon...

They are operating up the north though......

    Resurrection of old thread.

www.copart.ie is ready for business soon. I received this email the other day:
    Dear Member

Garage Number – Transferring a vehicle within the trade

As you maybe aware Copart Vehicle Auctions Ireland have started to receive vehicles ready for their first auction, in the next few weeks – we will email you again soon to confirm the first auction date.

As part of Copart Ireland’s processes all vehicles will be transferred onto Copart’s Garage Identity Number prior to the auction, as part of the vehicle transfer of ownership process.

At the time of collection, Copart will complete the VLC with the new owner’s details (Copart Member) and forward the VLC to the Department of Transport in Shannon, who will issue a new VLC to the Copart Buyer.

However, if you have a Garage Identity Number, that has been issued by the DTTS, and is in the same name and address as your Copart Buyer Details, Copart will transfer the vehicle onto your own Garage Identity Number and make the VLC available to you.

If you have a Garage Identity Number and want vehicle purchased from Copart Ireland transferred onto it you will need to send a scanned copy of it to members@copart.ie so that we can update your member file.

Should you have any questions please email the team at Castledermot at members@copart.ie

It will be interesting to see if they make changes to the Irish trade market on cat c & d's
