Hi all, I'd like to paint my basement wall white, it's currently plaster but much coarser finish that usual. What's the best approach here? Just apply white paint with a roller a few times? If so - any type of white paint work best?

I'd stick masonry paint on it, thin down the first coat.

I would not advise masonry paint in this case as the purpose of such paint is to help with creating a water resistant exterior, which is not what you want. In a basement is something that is breathable such as breathable paints or lime washes or similar.

Crown Obliterating paint and a long hair roller sleeve.

First coat will take a lot of paint but from then on should be as normal
