Get a globe from Argos or school supplies shop. Provide slim permanent markers for your guests to sign it.

Imo guest books are a waste of money.

We hemmed and hawed over getting one and eventually did, I think maybe 15 people signed it. Unless you have someone directing people towards it then most people won't be arsed. I say that from experience of our own wedding and from speaking to friends about it afterwards about their own.

I've never signed one either at any wedding I was ever at.

    Have to agree with this.
I try make a point to sign them, but so many don't.
Even if it's placed on the way in to the banquet room, many people walk past thinking 'oh, I'll sign it later' and then never do.
If you do want one, pick up a cheap hard back notebook from Eason or something. You'll be kicking yourself if you spend a lot of money on it!

The second hand stores might have some, I could check the one in Cork for you but I don't know where you are..

If you looking for an alternative like the others have said, Tiger stores have lovely books

Our wedding coordinator brings it to tables during the meal, which I think is a nice touch.

Good idea that, ours was just positioned beside the seating plan so was either missed or ignored by most!
