Hi. I was admitted to hospital with lung pleurisy in april. Since then i am experiencing very bad bouts of dizziness they last all day long. I was admitted to hospital last week for a week and given mris and a tilt table test which all showed okay. But when i go from sitting to standing my hr elevates from about 80 to 150 sometimes i dont check it this is but they did in the hospital. But it went back to normal after a few days only going up by 20ish. I was given the table test for pots and it showed clear so i guess its vertigo but im on day 10 of serc or verigon as theyre called but im still dizzy brain fog, weak limbs. Anxiety now over this because i feel it will never end. Please advise xxxx

    You can check/fix vertigo yourself.
Look for the Epley maneuver on Youtube to do it yourself, or find a physio/osteopath/chiropracter to do it for you.

No you can't - unless you have a particular inner ear problem, BPPV to be precise.

OP, if I were you I'd seek a second opinion from an ENT who specialises in dizziness and its causes. As far as I know there aren't any outside of Dublin but I could be wrong. There's a public clinic in Beaumont hospital.

On a practical level, adding more salt into your diet and drinking LOTS of water helps with pots, but if your tilt test was okay then that may not help at all.

Maybe give the tablets longer to work and go back to the doctor if no improvement. I know my mum suffers occasionally with dreadful vertigo and she gets some relief from stugeron. Might be something to ask your pharmacist to see if you can try that in addition?

Do check with your doctor or pharmacist before trying anything that hasn't already been prescribed, all I've given is suggestions of stuff I have heard has worked for others with similar problems
