Peugeot 3008 towbar wiring

    Hi all,

I've just fitted a towbar to my 2010 Peugeot 3008. I am about to install the wiring socket for the lights but wanted to check something first. I have a PCT universal bypass relay that I'm planning to use. To connect this to the car's wiring, can I just splice into the wiring loom at the lights? I have already connected the trailer socket to the bypass relay so it's just connecting the relay to the car's electrics I'm asking about. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

There should have been instructions with the relay, but yes, you simply splice into the appropriate light circuits to get the signal - tail, brake, indicator, reversing etc.

You also need a power supply for the relay. This must be fused and come directly (as far as possible) from the battery. You will also need an earth.

I had a go at earlier and got it working, spliced into the wiring at the back lights and got power from the fuse box. Had done a bit of research on the net first and got various wiring diagrams etc which helped.

    Thanks for the advice.
