looking to book to go to Thailand in the next few days. Does anyone have advice for a Lanky prick to get the best seats. When I look at the seat selection it only gives you an option after the first 13 rows or something.
    I'd that first class?

Where are you seeing the seat map & which airline are you looking to travel with?

Plug your prospective flight details & dates of travel into seatguru & look for something at a bulkhead or emergency exit for added legroom. Depending on the airline, it may cost you something extra to bag a 'preferred' seat. Anything greyed out towards the pointy end of the plane is likely a mix of First / Business or Business / Economy comfort.

Book premium economy if you can afford it, or pay to get the emergency exit row which has more leg room. Most long haul airlines will offer this.

I'm really tall myself so try to get exit rows for longer flights. Depending on the airline it may or may not be worth the extra (also depending what your base fare is). I find with Aer Lingus it tends to always be €40 for the longer haul routes which could be worse. I travelled with American recently and it was around $80 to NYC and then well over $100 for NYC to Sao Paulo and the same price on the way back so there was no chance they were getting my money.
