If you're working in the public sector, try cornmarket. All of their policies include it as standard.

+1 OP you need to say if it's class 2 or 3 you need. Class 2 is business use not involving sales or the carriage of goods or samples. I was able to get C2 from Axa for no charge but driving for sales use (C3) would have been a whole different ballgame.

I get class 1 for free from Aviva. It covers up to 5000km for business/work use per year. No carriage of goods.

Thanks for the replies - from past experience class 1 /2 can have different definitions to various insurers.

It's for my property maintenance business so it would involve carrying my tools and equipment used for work.

From memory, the actual tools and equipment weren't in them selves insured in the past - the car was just insured to carry them.

Based on this, which class would be required?

    Thanks again

    Layman's interpretation of Insurance Classes

    Car Insurance Class 1 A
This restricts the use of the vehicle to social, domestic & pleasure use. It allows policyholder to drive to & from work, but business use is excluded.

    Car Insurance Class 1 B
This class of use gives the social, domestic & pleasure use and also gives an extension to use the vehicle for business use, but restricted to personal business use and not business of anyone else, excludes carriage goods.

    Car Insurance Class 2
Class 2 use covers social, domestic & pleasure use, and use in the connection with the business of the insured, but excludes commercial travelling or the solicitation of business.

    Car Insurance Class 3
Class 3 will cover for social, domestic & pleasure purposes and use in connection with the business of the insured including commercial travelling.
