Remove Tape Residue from Aluminium Window Frame

    Hi,

    A glass panel was broken on a window so put up a sheet of plastic to prevent any glass coming loose while seeking a replacement.

    I stuck the plastic on with that grey tape that has a sort of mesh through it. Anyhow the tape has left residue on the frame (see attached) so was wondering how best to remove it without leaving marks on the frame.

    Remove as much as can with a blade, gently at an angle so as not to mark surface. Then with more stubborn bits use meth spirits or surgical spirits to rub off with a soft cloth.

    soak it with hot soapy water, use a cloth not a scourer as this may scratch it.

    i hear spreading peanut butter on it works wonders ( check it out you font believe me ) or mayonnaise and if they fail wd40.
