Imho they should be made run white if doing all road work. Theres a lad round here moving machines all over the town with tractor n low loader... Running on red diesel... Ag tax, insurance , no class 1, tacho or cpc needed. Makes it impossible for lads doing it right to compete.

Op, i charge £45 per hour for my grab, minimum 10hr day. I would imagine you would get a tipper for approx 40 per hr euros. Maybe on a saturday a bit cheaper if an owner operator.

Charging money like that, no wonder the lad with the tractor is flat out!

Easy to charge **** all when you have no overheads.

End up with £27 per hour after labour....
So that has to pay for fuel, maintenance. Tax, insurance, parking etc.... Theres no money in the grabs anymore

Drivers commanding 17/18 per hour ..... They operate the grab too backfilling and lifting muck.... Good grab drivers like hens teeth.... Some digger drivers on 17/18 per hour too on muck shifting job in knutsford.... So much work on that the rates are gone mad

    I only need 2 runs! Is the grab a 22ton and what's a tipper?
There's a machine on site to load the lorry

Will try now, never knew about that site.

For talks sake, if you charged 50 an hour min 10 hour day, what would your rate be just for 2 hours work.

They will price it by the load in that case.... A 6 wheel truck carrys 14 tonne. A 8 wheel truck carries 20 tonne.

You want an 8 wheel tipper i.e just a normal truck that tips. Is it westport u are? Know a guy here whos from down around mayo , his father runs a few 8 wheelers. i can ask exactly what part

Yeah that's what I was thinking but how much would an average load be if its an hour round trip per load, maybe even an hour and half for the 2 loads seeing as ya can do it in 25 mins 1 way.
