    was working fine last night, was watching abit of seinfeld while i fell asleep. had a shutdown timer running and it presumably shut down after i'd fallen asleep, as it always does

    this morning though.. just wont boot. i've removed the ram sticks individually, no change. removed sound card, gpu... that's all I have in there, no change.

    now, twice.. i did get to the windows login screen. and three times after i had removed all the hd's power (2 ssd, 3 hdd) i got to the bios menu. then directly after (getting into the bios menu) I powered off and plugged in the ssd's and got into the windows menu and everything seemed to be working fine

    powered off again, booted up. straight back into windows.

    powered off again, plugged in the 3 hdd's... wont boot again

    unplugged 3 hdd's and 2 ssd's. won't boot. it just powers on, cpu fan spins..no beeps, no nothing

    when i got into the bios menu it read the correct amount of ram, but sure i dont think it's the ram as switching the sticks about didn't do anything. the gpu should be fine too as it got into the bios menu and it got into windows fine, the couple of times it actually worked

    i'm a bit at a loss here, surely if the mobo is ****ed then it should be ****ed and this intermittent will work won't work nonsense shouldn't be happening. it's either psu, mobo or cpu...and i dont have any idea how I could test which one it is

    all i can say is the psu is the oldest, mobo and cpu were both replaced in october

    any ideas or unbelievably simple and quick solutions that I just didn't think of?

    //edit

    right, went back in and powered it on and off a few more times. nothing the first 3 times. then it got the bios menu and powered itself off twice... now it booted up straight into windows and seems to be working fine

    im just gona leave it like this and not power it off
