Passat B7 - Uncomfortable seats

    Hi all,
Recently bought a 2011 Passat highline. I've owned it a month and getting serious back pain due to the lack of comfort in driving position. There is no tilt function on the seat and I'm carrying my legs the whole time, no thigh support. I'm normal proportions (6"). Can't find a distance/height on the seat to rest the legs properly.
Googling suggests that there's a few people out there complaining of this. Adding washers to the base to tilt the whole lot could have insurance reprecussions, and the seats can't take much more packing.

Has anyone had and solved these issues? Can anyone recommend a cushion/ insert although its a shame to have to resort to that. But don't think I can afford to just flip it so soon.

    Any advice welcome.

I find these are fine once the seat is in the fully lowered position. But if it is moved up from the fully lowered position I do think they are tilted too far forward.

I think I'm the same height as you maybe a little taller

my son & myself are exactly the same height if I drive in the position he leaves the seat I'd be crippled

my mate reckons his C5 is the most comfortable he's owned I had it for a week & couldn't get a good seat position

no 2 physiques are the same.

I gave it 24hrs in lowest, and almost ok. So today I bought a wedge cushion (the thinnest, <11 deg, 30euro) and inserted it backwards. It's not well secured, but the comfort is much improved.
I've never had this issue with car before so I do blame VW and not just me being awkward.

    Thanks for all replies.

I own a 2011 b7 Passat cl,im 6ft4 and have no problems with back pain but I do find the suspension is far far to firm for irish roads, but that said I have the car one year and I hate it to its rotten core,so badly and cheaply made, not able for high milage but like you to change the car back to say a Toyota avensis 2012 I would need another 8000 plus mine to trade in,,,,nooooooo way but rest assured I will never own another vw in any model....there just too badly made and form looking at the b8 even more corners have been cut to save money...the only reason I own the vw is for leg arm and head room but that's it.im ashamed to own such a bad car......

I'm plagued with such problems. Changed car recently because of the seats only to find the next one was even worse (you never know on a test drive). Bought a seat that suits from a breakers yard and found a lad to stick it in but there was so much messing regarding airbag and seatbelt sensors etc I just changed the car again :o

Resort to a cushion?!! If that works you're blessed! You could try the wedge cushion if its your tailbone that's giving you jip. The mesh lubar supports are okay too as are the McKenzie Rolls. You don't seem too far gone so one of these might do the trick
