Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,
I am looking to have audible speed warning alerts either on android phone or willing to buy a sat nav for same. Any advice? I can't seem to find an app for phone that is reliable.

    Cheers.

Have you looked at Here Maps? It has speed warnings and you can download the maps to use offline. Here (Nokia) use Navteq maps, same maps as Garmin use. :)

    Hi Mycroft,
Thanks for reply. I have tried it out but it doesn't always give a warning, not sure what I am doing wrong....

Bear in mind that many car speedos overread by a considerable amount, 10% or so in many cases, so if you drove at say 125 km/h on your speedo then the speed warning won't display. You'd probably need to drive at an indicated 130km/h or more to trigger it. You can set up Here Maps to show your actual speed on the status bar, plus you can also specify by how much you can exceed the speed limit before it warns you.
