Has anyone taken a Cut-e test? Opinions? Advice?

After interview 3 I was tasked to complete an online assessment with a website called Cut-e. I completely bombed the test, but luckily they gave me a chance to retake it.

Does anyone have any advice or personal experience with this system? It's 12 minutes to take in 6 pages of absurdly complicated information about an imaginay corporation and answer 49 true or false questions.

I scored in the 97th percentile during my SATs, so I'm devastated that I'm unable to do these tests. All online practice tests are paid as well!

Yeah, the public appointment service use them alot, I find them quite difficult, but do some practice online on them you should get the idea of what they are after.

12 minutes, 49 questions, 14.5 seconds per question. All practice tests cost around 80 euros. I am struggling to be positive.

I really am looking for advice or experiences as practicing isn't an option. I've done so well on other tests, from ASVABs to DATs to my SATs; although I think I've met my match here! Either I'm an idiot, I'm missing something, or everybody fails. So much is dependent on my success here, hence the desperate tone.

The practice tests on jobtestprep.co.uk are quite good, for example cut-e:

See what you can find, maybe a bundle could save you money on these.

Try to get as close to the 49 questions completed as possible. I would suggest with 2 minutes left to go, blitz through the rest of the questions. Just randomly selecting true or false. By the law of averages half of these will be correct.

The test is assessing your time management as well as knowledge. If you haven't attempted a question you have no chance of getting it right.

We did a similar test recently for a position. Everyone walked out thinking it was impossible. Most people spent too much time on the first 20 questions and didn't get even half way through the test. Those who got to the end of the test got the highest marks... And interviews for the position.

    Best of luck

For anyone taking the test in the future this is pretty good advice.

Oddly, my advice after retaking it would be to take your time. My mistake on the verbal reasoning was to be overly time conscious and give myself ten seconds per question. On the numerical I ignored the time and ended up with two minutes to spare.

I would advise reading the entire comprehension twice before answering any questions, that way I familiarisedysrlf as to where specific information is located. Three minutes at the start ended up saving more time at the end.

    Hi Moromaster,

The careers report on www.gradireland.com was developed by Cut-e. It includes tests on numerical reasoning, verbal reasoning, inductive logical thinking and deductive logical thinking. The report is free and you can redo the tests as often as you like. All you have to do is register.

These tests were developed five or six years ago. The formats have probably moved on, but it might be a good practice option for you.

    Best of luck
