    Hi all,

I am just digging up my memory.

In Summer time in 1995, I remember going on the flight to TFS from DUB but I cannot remember what airline it is but all I remember it was Orange colour.

On return journey back to Dublin, I remember a short hop to another airport which I presume it may be ACE or LPA.

I may answer my question based on clue on colour.

    Iberia
    Spanair

Do anyone remember if there was another airline doing Charter flight in summer 95.

    Any help appreciated.

Thank Strumms, that could be it alright.

Is there any other charter during that time?

I remember doing a trip down to TFS back in the early 90's, and the routing was DUB-ACE-TFS, with a direct routing back to DUB on the return.

Flew to Majorca and Lanzarote with Futura in the '90s. They we fine. Although the returm trip from Lanzaraote required a pit stop in Seville to refuel. A similar EI 737 took off after us and equally as fine and did the hop non-stop.

IIRC the Futura 737s used to carry 10-20 more passengers then then Aer Lingus ones'.

I have similar memories and I remember doing a Cork-Shannon-Almeria I think it was!

Is there anyway of seeing historic departures ex dub from 2005. I flew on a charter to greece and would love to see where this ended up.

Donl't mean to hijack the thread but as a youngster in the late nineties, the annual family holiday on a charter ex Cork are some of my best memories. I can't remember them all one for one but among the airlines were Air Europa (ORK -> Menorca, 1997 IIRC), Futura on various flights other years around then and my favorite being a First Choice Airways 757 on ORK -> PMI in 2001. Although I wasn't very old, I remember noticing the 757 was a different beast to the usual 737-300's and 737-500's of the time! Very specifically remember how that aircraft took to the sky with such ease versus the others. Still my only 757 journey to this day!

We are talking 20 years ago and my memory ain't all that. I would imagine there would have been others, TransAer / Translift as well as the ones you mention but going off the clue of orange I can't recall anything other then Futura.

I was a regular on that route so I'm gonna say it had to be Futura back then. Livery changed in the late 90s.

Ah Futura - brings back memories of crap package holidays to Canaries and Greece. Had better experiences with them than Monarch at the time though.

Slightly off topic but anyone remember Rich Air I think they were called? Flew on a Lockheed Tristar to Orlando with them a couple of times. Dreadful experience!

I remember them... i would have been an avid spotter back then i have some cool old photos from about 1990-1996, all sorts of rare birds and airlines... Rich Air may also have operated DC8s if im not mistaken...

They flew Dublin-Cork-Gander-Orlando on the way over. On one flight they had to pick up an engineer so we did Orlando-Gander-Cork-Shannon-Dublin. Horrific. I spent a whole flight once with no sound for the film and huge amounts of water pouring on my head for some reason which they couldn't fix or move me away from. Most crew only spoke Spanish and poor English so not sure what the problem actually was.

    The plane was cool though.

Flew Translift to MCO in 1993 in a DC8 which was pretty short lived in their fleet.. Remember nice staff but crappy food, I think we did the stop in Gander on the way over but direct back. On the way back the cabin was fùcking ice cold freezing and the crew had to dish out blankets.

i have to say i loved futura. i have some of my best holiday memories flying with them, not the best airline but one i will never forget.
i remember landing in shannon coming back from a 2 week holiday in palma on one of there 737 800's. I was the last passenger off the plane and bump into the first officer on the the air bridge he was the nicest man you could meet, we chatted about planes and the airline for about 10 minutes, he was very proud to be flying for futura and was a big fan of the 737.

Have good memories of Futura too, only flew the one round trip to PMI with them but as a spotter I loved them.
