Is this a good time to remove an unwanted birds nest?

Surely any hatchlings have flown the nest by now? early bird etc.

Do not touch any nests until at least the end of september. Many species have second or third clutches

Thanks for reply. Thats an awful mess to put up with until then. :(
Whats the best way to prevent it in future? When is nest building time?

what species is it? It sounds like a housemartin nest? These are cup shaped mud structures under overhanging gutters etc. To be honest, it breaks my heart when people destroy their nests. They are beautiful birds, fly thousands of miles to get here, eat lots of flies and create a very small amount of mess. In other countries they are encouraged and are seen as a sign of good luck.
