Just for gaming, an i5 4460 is enough. And 8gb RAM is lots too. I'd get a H97 board, same price. Doesn't have to be a Gamer one or anything, they're all the same. You won't need a CPU cooler either

That'll shave off €175 for a card or SSD.

    What's budget on GPU?

The 4460 was only 20 cheaper figured more power is better will be using it for a plex server and want to get oculus when it comes out would it not be worth paying the extra 20 for ?

The motherboard i picked for price seemed ok is h97 board better some how or just better brand ?

I don't need a cpu cooler ? I was going for water cooled one to keep noise down but surly i need some kind of cooling on cpu ?

For now ill be staying around 1-200 on gpu want to get something decent next year when I can better afford a new screen and decent high end gpu.

4460 should be €175 after geizhals.de discount. Forgot to say, use that for all parts.

Newer chipset, no huge thing but might as well get the newest you can for an odd euro

The Nanoxia is already fairly quiet, you can get a waterblock if you want but no need imo. There is a cooler supplied with the CPU that most use, its perfectly adequate.

    For €200 a second hand R9 280X is best call. At €250 or so, a R9 290 is a great card

I was forgetting about heatsink yea ill skip the water cooling then and go for cheaper cpu and less ram just pump it into better gpu now thanks

For GPU recommendations, the AMD side does drive too many hard bargains to go Green Team. The GTX 960, is about €200, and performs nicely at 1080p, however I doubt the power of it in future games when it's memory bus is so small (4Gb won't help all that much either).
In the same price bracket, second hand r9 280X's can be found, which blows the 960 out of the water. If you don't want 2nd hand, the AMD r9 380 2GB is a perfect contender with the 960, and trades blows at similar games. If you can find one, the r9 285 new should be €195 or so, which benefits from any new features AMD might release.

I can't recommend the €150 price of the R9 270 or the 750Ti, as they might not have much life left in them for next year's games.

If I were you I'd go amd price for perfomce is brilliant im currently using an fx 8350 8 core stock 4ghz and I have to say it's brilliant and I wouldn't bother with the 960 you can get older cards which perform better for the same price like the gtx 780 4gb gddr5

The 8350 preforms as well as an i3 in most games at €40 more expensive, with 6 extra cores at a higher clock speed.

Intel are better chips hands down.

780 stands up to a 970, while being a little slower in mos games. Way out of budget here anyways

Personally I would say that the nearest Intel equivalent is the i7-3820 >

    AMD FX-8350 > 4.0/ 4.2GHz , 8MB cache, 8 cores / 8 threads, 37GB/s bandwidth, No integrated graphics >130W> Passmark rating No. 40, CPU= 9125

    Intel i7-3820 > 3.6 / 3.8GHz, LGA2011 , 10MB cache, 4 cores / 8 threads (hyperthreading), 51.2 GB/s bandwidth, No integrated graphics > 125W > Passmark rating No. 44, CPU= 9020

But yes Intel are winning the game overall

Passmark and gaming benches are totally different. Search i3 4160 vs the 8350 in YouTube and watch a few bench marks

No AMD chip will touch any but a first Gen i7 in gaming

Thats great, if your games or programs max out all 8 cores on an 8350, but invariably they dont. They lose out to intel as the performance per core is much lower

Techspot's GTA V benchmarks showed that the 8350 @ 4Ghz performed the same as the i7-4770k at just 2.5Ghz.

It also barely beats the i3-4130. And looses in quite a few games as well.

Going AMD these days makes zero sense.
