Self Employed Tax help?!

Hi around the start of last year I was struggling to find work and decided to go self employed as a mobile hairdresser. I sent off the relevant forms etc but while I was waiting for the certificate to come back I found employment.
I didn't do any work as self employed but I didn't let anybody know that I wanted to un-register as self employed.
Now I've had the form come for tax returns etc, do I need to send it back and put 0 as my earnings, or just un-register as self employed and if so how do I do that?
I'm also looking at going self employed next year but with a different business, will this affect that in any way?
