    Hi Guys.
My son has a 2010 MBP and decided to upgrade to an ssd
Got an ocz 240? gb and opened it up. installed and closed it up

    Followed the instructions online
    cmd + Option + R

Gets tot he internet connection choice
    Next
    Input connection choice + Password

Returns to spinning globe or whatever it is.

How can we pass this point as it just sits there?

    Thanks for any help.

I replaced the drive on my mac mini with a SSD a while back. One of the steps, before installing the drive, was to first clone the original drive onto the new SSD - did you do this?

Either clone the existing disk to the SSD (though this might require more steps if the old hard drive is larger than the new SSD)

Or download the installation media and create a bootable USB key.

Don't you need to format the new ssd?

Thought I had replied to this.
Yes, We did format the drive. Went back through the process of downloading the setup and it worked perfectly from then on.
    Thanks all.
