Pipe size from well?

    Hello,

    does anyone know whats the normal size pipe from the well hole to the expansion tank? And what dept should it be? The well hole is 180 feet deep.

    one inch hydro. Down about 500mm.

    It should be about 175 feet deep. Pipe around 1 1/4"hydrodare

    One inch is more than enough. Up 10% that's 162 ft.

    Sorry didn't realise l typed that. Why would you go with 1 1/4 pipe and go to down 175ft.

    Well it's down a fair bit so why not. I'd just keep the pump 5' from the bottom of the well

    You have to allow 10% for silt built up especially in new well. Never have to go more than one inch pipe, will give plenty flow going any bigger at that depth will only cause bursts.
