Wash-area for bedroom?.

Hi I'm considering a new wash area for my room, new 'sink' and tiles. (the current one is older than me, literally) . I'm thinking I'd like green, or a striking blue, or pink 'sink' and tiles to go with this. But all the designs seem to be white, is there any particular reason for this? and someone said that if I did want a colour other than white, that it would be more expensive?. And any general advice regarding this enterprise would be appreciated, such as type of tile, material etc. I've not 'done this before' so any experience gratefully received , thanks :)

    Hebus, the 70's is calling.
People are ripping out coloured porcelain and replacing it with white.
I have not seen anything other than white in a showroom in at least 20 years.

Seriously though, why should they all be white? stinks of some boring consensus, devoid of creativity or scope for individuality....

Probably your best bet is salvage/reclamation/second hand? Don't know where you're based, Dublin has a good few yards.

Have you checked gumtree etc? You might get lucky and find a set in good condition that's free to collect.
