Image quality checking software

    Hi,

I'm hoping someone can help me.

I know photo quality can be subjective but I'm wondering if anyone knows of a piece of software I can purchase that will automatically check photo quality. i.e. whether it's blurry or not.

Basically I will have a site which will allow people to upload photos of different items such as vehicles and other property.

I need these photos to be clear and it would be great if there was software that could run in the backround that could check the photos for blur and advise the uploader that a clearer image is required.

This stuff is a little alien to me and I'm just doing some research at the moment so any help you could give would be great.

    Thanks a million

I don't know how the software could tell whether the picture is out of focus or just has a shallow focus without being some pretty complicated image recognition software.

    Can't beat a human eye.

Doesn't matter what software you have, you'll always find people trying to upload screengrabs, icons, photos of screens etc.

for automation of image properties checks using imagemagick on Linux (or in windows under a cygwin environment) is probably your best bet. You can also use mediainfo to some degree, though is strengths are in video and audio file info.

Asking questions on imagemagick forums as to how best achieve what you want is probably your best bet.
