Amending the UFC

This question is off the back of recent cuts, deals, fighter pay and to those out there who are disgruntled by the recent changes.

If you were to restructure the UFC organisation how would you do it?

Would people be in favour of flattening the pay structure? Capped payouts? Contract reviews every 3 fights?

Regarding sponsorships, would you go back to allowing everyone to get in on the deal? Who would you stop from sponsoring (porn sites, gambling sites, ex-affiliated companies of the UFC)?

There's a lot of things the UFC does wrong. Very wrong. But there's also a lot that they do right. Now I'm not some UFC nut hugger by any stretch but I do think people complaining about fighter pay really need to think about it. No one is forcing anyone to sign papers. No one knows the true amounts of "back room bonuses".

For example, Rory taking that absolute beating the other day for $60k. I felt bad but at the end of the day, he knows what he's getting into when he signs the contract. How much his camp costs, tests, food, travel etc - he has weighed this up and decided it's worth it. This might be a bad example 'cause you can almost guarantee that they gave him a nice cheque afterwards.

Anyways, what would you change in the UFC?

Macdonalds been fighting since he was a kid,so obviously he loves it and would be competing regardless of the financial reward imo,but that doesn't mean it's ok.It's pretty staggering how little of the overall revenue goes to fighters, that fight's being used as an example because of the brutality of it but besides that it was a co-main event on one of the biggest ppvs of all time, that's the most disturbing part. There are probably guys out there who fought on stacked cards and received injuries similar to Macdonald and only got a fraction of his purse and no fotn.
Not really sure what the issues are with sponsorship but they could really start paying the fighters a lot better.

Can you elaborate on this? He's gone over his words multiple times and said some of the stupidest things ever but I'm wondering if you have some specifics on this

Not at all, the UFC wouldn't be where it is today without him and thats a fact. He might not be the most likable person in the world and come out with some pretty stupid stuff but id be more confident in the UFC going forward with him at the helm than without him.

The ufc absoloutely take advantage of fighters with the contracts, low money because they know they are the pinacle and see it as a where else are you going to go? A champions contracts automatically ticks an extra fight onto their contract even if they won their belt with 0 fights on their current deal

The fighters need to unionise like every other major sport stars do, they don't seem interested but will bitch and moan about pay etc. Unionise, demand to be paid 50%+ of everything like other sports do. What do the UFC pay, less than 10%?

Hey Dana you always want to compare yourself to NFL/NBA/NHL/MLB/the major soccer leagues, go ahead and prove it. The UFC is a dot compared to these since there are teams in these leagues bigger than the UFC on their own but throw his mouth back at him.

The fighters can change it, they probably only need 4/5 guys/gals from the top 15 in each division to stick together on it and most of the others will follow. Get 40/50 fighters from the top 15 (a lot of who aren't paid very well) to refuse to fight until the UFC are prepared to negotiate. The UFC have to keep going to keep the money moving, 40% profit lost last year?
They'll pay up and do it quickly if the fighters strike.
