Hi I'm thinking of tiling the bathroom with white metro wall tiles. I'm wondering what suggestions for flooring you might have. I tried a polished porcelain charcoal grey and its a little to stark against it. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks R

I've seen tiles that look like painted floorboards paired with white wall tiles. I don't like dark floor tiles either especially in bathrooms. In our old house we had white wall tiles with a blue and gold border and white floor tiles in our ensuite and they looked ok too.

I love morrocan tiles personally and think they look great with subway tiles. You could go for soft greys, a pattern helps it to not look too stark.
Another option would maybe be a classic black and white checkerboard floor?

We're doing white Metro tiles on the wall (Tubs and Tiles seem the best value for these) and a fairly bold criss-cross tile (Vives Palau Celeste) on the floor. We found Rocca Tiles in Galway had the latter at the best price but I'm not sure if they still have them.

I think the plain white subway can take a strong pattern or colour on the floor. Hope so anyway!
